Derrick Adams (b. 1970, Baltimore, MD) is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York.
He received his BFA from Pratt University, New York in 1996 and graduated with an MFA from Columbia University, New York in 2003.
Adams has held numerous teaching positions and is currently a tenured assistant professor in the School of Visual, Media and Performing Arts at CUNY Brooklyn College and has received an Honorary Doctorate from MICA.
Adams celebrates and expands the dialogue around contemporary black life and culture through scenes of normalcy and perseverance.
He has developed an iconography of joy, leisure and the pursuit of happiness within a practice that encompasses paintings, sculptures, collages, performances, videos and public projects.
Adams synthesizes representational imagery with planar Cubist geometry to produce multifaceted figures and faces that address the richness of the black experience.

Dried fruits and brown sugar from the nose are joined on the palate with notes of baking spices, poached pear and soft salted caramel.
FINISH
A rich, long finish with delicate walnut, dried fruits and crème brûlée.
NOSE
An enchanting floral nose of orange blossom and hints of mandarin. Soft caramel with notes of marmalade and dry straw.
PALATE
A rich, elegant mouthfeel with candied lemon peel, ripe fig, hints of leather, golden syrup and barley sugar sticks.
FINISH
Long and lingering finish. Manuka honey, baking spices and subtle orange blossom, with a hint of jasmine.
Our unique 21 year old single malt whiskey was initially matured in the finest ex-bourbon oak casks before being transferred into 250 litre Oloroso Hogshead casks. To add complexity and even further layers of flavour we then transferred the whiskey into four custom made 128 litre casks.
We chose Oloroso, Amontillado, Pedro Ximenez and Moscatel casks for their rich and individual flavour profiles. Inspired by The Masked Pioneer, we ourselves became pioneers in exploring the possibilities in the art of Irish whiskey maturation.
Four bottles of 21 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey, each finished in their own individual way. Presented together in a high gloss, piano black wooden display case. Limited to 110 sets with a certificate of authenticity.
